Do I need a licence?
On the Moselle: motorboats over 3.68 kW, that is 5 hp, require a licence in Germany and Luxembourg. Below that, and with a charter certificate issued after an introduction, none is needed.
How far do you get in a day?
Reckon on 8 to 12 km/h over the ground and allow 30 to 60 minutes per lock — more at weekends in high season.
Before you take the boat over
