Germany’s oldest bridge still carrying traffic — Roman piers from the 2nd century, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the lowest passage on the river: the figure sits exactly on the waterway minimum.

The figure applies in the middle of the navigation span. At the edge of the arch there is less. Aerial, bimini, radar arch and flagstaff all count — and so does the wash of oncoming craft.
