Trier is Germany’s oldest city — and, from the water, one of the most rewarding destinations on the Moselle. The visitor berths at the Zurlauben quay are within walking distance of the old town: Porta Nigra, cathedral, Hauptmarkt and Imperial Baths are all reachable on foot without losing sight of your boat.
In summer the Zurlauben berths fill quickly — arriving early pays off, and the row of riverside taverns makes up for any wait. For a longer or quieter stay, ask the Trier marina for a visitor berth; always check current conditions directly with the operator.

- This is the shortest of the three classics — leave early and you are moored by lunchtime, with the whole afternoon for the Roman city.
- Between Wasserbillig and Trier you share a federal waterway with commercial traffic — hold your course, monitor the VHF; the locks answer on the channels in the table.
- Provisioning: the city centre is a walk from the berth; refuel before departure at Schwebsange — en route there is no reliable boat fuel until the Trier area.
