The southernmost lock on this stretch and the gateway to the French Moselle. Operated by VNF. From here upstream, French rules apply — among them the vignette and, where relevant, different radio channels.

Locks on the Moselle — how it works

Leisure boats call the lock keeper on VHF before entering, or use the self-service leisure-craft lock where one exists. Wait at the marked waiting berth and watch the lights: two red lights mean closed, red and green together means "opening shortly", green means enter.

Inside the chamber, boats make fast to the fixed or floating bollards, fore and aft, with fenders towards the wall. Lines stay in hand and are never made fast — going up the boat rises, going down it drops. The engine stays running until the exit is cleared.
